Made my dog's paws softer and kept snowballs from sticking so badly.

Works great. My dogs don't have issues with their paws. While my hunting buddies dogs, who don't use mushers secret, struggle with cuts and bleeding and discomfort with ice and snow. Worth every penny.

He (dog) doesn't like it. I think he already froze his paws. Will try to keep using it.

Put mushers secret on before our hike in the recent snow. We were out for over an hour and no problem at all. Not one time did we have to stop to clean out paws. Both dogs seemed fine after our hike.

I know my dog is little, only 7.5 lbs, but his paws need protection too. He loves to have Mushers worked into his paws. He does not chew at his paws and is very comfortable with the product. I hope this keeps his paws supple and free of damage through below zero temperatures we endure. He cannot stay out for long, but he does go out every day.

Both Molly and Finnegan no longer squirm when I apply the Mushers. They seem to know that when they go out, their paws will not sting from the salt and that they will not limp back into the house.

Helps prevent pad soreness and cracking when running in areas with multiflora rose and other thorny growth. I use it before and after the hunt.

Gator used to get abrasions on his paws from the gravel roads and broken ice! Since we started using Musher's his paws stay healthy! They don't get dry and cracked. In the summertime he is more tolerant of pavements. All around, year round, I recommend Musher's for every paw!

This is great protection and softener for dog paws. I walk my dogs in all weather. This product protects the paws from salt and hot pavement, and helps heals issues I have with the dogs paws.

Taking my labs to South Dakota has always meant sore feet for them transitioning to chasing pheasants in the fields there, from Waterfowl hunting in Wisconsin. Leading even to limited hunting time. None of my dogs have tolerated boots well. This year, mushers secret changed that. It protected their feet incredibly well...leading to no foot soreness at all after three long days afield!

Seems to work pretty good on the pads, but I was hoping that it would also do a good job on the top of the toes. It is better than nothing, but after a week of hunting (and daily application), still ended up with raw toes and exposed skin. Worth a try, but was hoping for a little better results.

One of my labs had tore one of her pads, and we were going goose hunting in a picked corn field, and I used this product to keep the exposed pad protected.

I do not have much experience with paw protector products, but Musher's Secret seems to be working well. Paws had some dryness and cracking which went away after a couple of applications. Now applying it every few days to maintain moisture. I live in Northern Ontario, this winter will test the products cold weather effectiveness.

I used this Musher's Secret on my GSP during a 3-day pheasant hunt in South Dakota. To test it, we did not use the product on another GSP in our group. I was hoping that Musher's Secret would prevent the sores caused by hunting slough grass and crop fields. At the end of the 3 days, there was no difference between the condition of the two dog's feet. The product does not bother the dogs and had no negative effect, but did not prevent foot pad abrasions for these specific conditions. I still gave it 3 stars because it was tested in some of hardest hunting conditions a dog's feet endures. Also, keep in mind that Gun Dog Supply is recommending it for sand burn, which I cannot comment on.

Heidi is a working certified therapy dog, and we are exposed to many surfaces in the course of her visits to facilities - carpets, blacktop, sidewalks, gravel, and often this results in sore paws. Musher's Secret has solved this problem and provides the protection she needs without spotting carpets, bed sheets etc. Thanks!!

It lasts much longer than Vaseline, which is what we normally use. Plus, its fifty times less disgusting during application.

Had our first snow of the season last night. Took him out this morning in the snow for a 2 hour run and walk in the snow. Put musher's on his pads, and he could have gone another 2 hours. We quit because I got cold. Great stuff! Mel

Used it in South Dakota terrain--corn, milo, and grass; no snow, some mud. My dog's feet didn't appear to be as sore as in previous years. Also rubbed some on the outside of his ears to help keep burrs, etc. from sticking to the ears.

I truly believe in this product as something to use to protect my dogs paws.

My dog has dry cracked pads from allergies (he licks at them). Mushers Secret is the only salve that helps. Bag Balm makes the pads too soft if used every day, and then they crack very badly. Mushers Secret holds in moisture, solves the chronic cracking. The more I can smear on the better his feet get. We hunt dry, rocky country. Boots only fill up with sand and rocks that chew up his feet. We are also hilly so high top boots scuff up his legs. No need for boots when I keep up with the Mushers Secret.

Our Lab (was a seizure dog for my nephew) is allergic to just about everything. Gets shots, pills special food etc. Poor guy still doesn't get much relief. His paws itch and he chews his pads to rawness. This dog liked the taste of anti-chew products that made us retch! Tuf-Foot gives him instant relief and reduces the redness in the raw spots within hours. He seems to enjoy the application. We apply Mushers Secret on the pads after the Tuf-Foot dries. This combo has healed and maintained his paw pads better than any other regimen tried the past nine years. Mushers Secret dries quickly and lasts longer than other products even with covert licking and chewing. We use it year round.

Before this product, I tried a number of boots and had poor results for various reasons. After finding mushers secret on gundogsupply.com I wouldn't go without. I apply this to my dog's pads during the cold winters of Wisconsin before any outdoor hunting or activity. It keeps his pads protected and healthy. It prevents his pads from drying out and developing cuts/splitting.

I just wanted to share with anyone considering this product for snow use...that it's extremely effective! I was able to try it out for the first time this weekend here in Southern MN. The snow was just above freezing, causing it to ball up on the back of my Springer's legs in golf ball sized clumps. I put this on her paws on the way out of the truck...just a little on each foot making sure to get it between each toe. We spent a good 3 hours running through the snow and at the end of it, she had 2 clumps of snow, smaller than the size of a pea on one of her paws...that's it! It was amazing. Last year as a pup, she would get big clumps of snow between each toe just playing in the back yard. I would suggest this to anyone planning to do any late season hunting, or even having a dog outdoors during the winter.

I've used Musher's Secret for the past two winters in Connecticut. My dog's paws are more like Golden Retrievers' and he always used to gets snow balls between his pads during hikes. Musher's Secret is great in preventing the formation of snow balls - I use it all the time. The claims of it being odorless and non-staining are true - and it\'s a great skin moisturizer as well for hands. And I think it keeps the paw pads soft and prevents cracking. I've recommended it to others.

As a veterinary technician I see a lot of abused and neglected canine feet. This product moisturizes, protects from heat, cold and snowballing and is wonderful for dogs that work too hard to be bothered with boots. My 50lb mix will spend hours in rough, close woodlands as well as doing rock climbs, where MS keeps her pads soft for grip. I have recommended this product to people in my medical practice and will continue to do so. For best results I pack it well into the center of the foot so it can soak through the entire pad, with most foot pad treatments the consistency won't allow for this and the product is worn off the pad in minutes. Probably its best application is keeping wintertime snow and road salt from directly contacting the foot and causing damage. Thank you for selling it; it isn't the easiest thing to find in stores!

This is a pretty great product. It will condition pads and protect them during hunting. I have used it to keep paws from becoming snow packed, and it also helps keep burs out. Also used it on cut paws. First used EMT Gel and then used the mushers wax to seal it up and keep the dirt out. Can't say enough about this product! Use it every time we take a dog out.

Great product! Keeps my dogs paws ice free on the coldest days, so they can keep running and running.

This product did not work on my dog to prevent the snow/ice balls from forming in the hair between the pads.

We had a lot of snow (often 1-2 feet) and cold (down to -10 deg F) in Nov-Dec in Montana in 2010. Then hunted 9 days of Chukar in Idaho in Jan til it closed. It also was cold and snowy along with the rocks and cliffs that chukars love. Discovering Musher's Secret was a godsend this year. It completely prevents snow buildup and greatly reduces the sore pads these conditions can cause. On the -10 deg day my dog didn't mind the cold snow at all, while my companion's dogs were whimpering and tiptoeing around, until we put some on their feet. Used it on my face that day to prevent frostbite. I am excited to find the 1 lb size instead of the 60 gram. I am going to buy 2 pounds. Eric Kress ,Missoula , MT
