The skid plate was perfect for my Brittney. We hunt some aspen stands for grouse and woodcock with a heavy blackberry understory. I can quickly put it on and Jaz goes right to work with great protection and noticeably less irritation from all the thorns. Very good product.

I have a older female dog and it could have been a couple of inches longer, to provide protection on one of her teats. It would be nice to have a model that's a couple of inches longer.

My dog is allergic to grass and has lost all the hair on her stomach. This allows me to hunt her without her stomach becoming all torn up. She is a 40lb dog, and I probably should have gotten a M instead of a S. There is not any adjustment left in the straps.

Sizing isn't completely accurate for the German Shorthaired Pointer with deep chests. Tight at openings around front arm (leg?) pits causes chafing. Could really use larger leg openings or a softer material to prevent this.

my dog does not even notice he is wearing this skid plate. He is much less hesitant to really dive through the thick brush and he doesn't come home covered in scratches and cuts. so far it is holding up great and size was perfect. As someone else mentioned, the straps are orange not black which makes more sense for visibility.

We purchased this to get our pup back in the fields after an immune disorder diagnosis. The struggle was to protect her from scratches and other injuries that could lead to internal bleeding. The skid plate works great. Her chest and belly was unscathed in her four hour hunt. Very pleased with the product. Sturdy materials and blaze orange for visibility.

It was a great fit for the English Setter. She is small and very narrow and have had great success with the great sizing charts that Gun Dog Supply uses to get a great fit. It was very easy to adjust. The only problem I have is small burrs get between the vest and her. Setters do not have a lot of fur. She gets scratched up with the burrs in there. But if she did not have the vest it would be a lot worse. I would recommend Gun Dog Supply. I live in Canada and get better gear and service thru Gun Dog Supply than up here in Canada. Great shipping rates and shipping time.

This vest now has orange straps which I like even better. It is highly effective at protecting your dog without restricting movement. My dog danced a little when he first wore it, but now he knows it's his work uniform. He loves to see this come out of my vest, and he is nearly bullet proof in it. Note: dog abdomen is still exposed, so don't get too cocky, as my dog did suffer a puncture hernia this weekend, but it would have been far worse without his skid plate. This is a MUST HAVE for active dogs in heavy brush.

We work in Search and Rescue. The skid plate works well, but the extra large is a bit shorter than I would like. My Shepherd in a big boy 110# so a bit bigger than your typical hunting dog. So far we're pleased with the results.
