Versatile!

purchased for use with my pup. the bandolier style lead is amazing as it does not cinch down on you and tighten if the dog pulls. the ability to adjust from one form to another makes the leash very versatile for many different training options.

GREAT Lead
May 27, 2023
This is a great lead if you want to walk 2 dogs together or if you like to have a slip over the shoulder leash to walk one dog. You can combine it with the 9way lead to have added control. I have both and love them, they are my go to choice for vacation trips and everyday use, also great for training a pup to walk on a leash the right way.

I’ve seen many handlers / owners with this leash and finally asked one where he purchased it from. I should have know it was from gun dog supply. I wish I had asked sooner. This is now our go everywhere leash. The leash is great in he field, back yard training, or long walks. The versatility is fantastic.

Excellent quality, feels great on hands, helps with training my large dogs
June 28, 2021
I have purchased three of these leashes for my 3 large breed dogs to use while walking on city streets. They are long enough to wrap around their waist so that they don't pull my arm/shoulder out and I have control of the dog should it lean into traffic. The leash is high quality and softens up with use. Also, the brass details stay rust free in my ocean walking environments as well.

When I got my first Irish Setter, I bought this lead to use for training, beach walks, and her hunting training. I loved its versatility and, frankly, its beauty. Its design shows the careful thought that went into it and the components are all beautiful. It is the only leash that I have used on the beach for which the snaps perform even in sand and salt water. It also has survived many a post-beach rinse-off, remaining soft and pliable. Since then, I purchased a second leash for my second Irish Setter, another as a gift for another Irish Setter hunting dog owner, and now a fourth as a reserve.

Funny you ask: My Wife just got back from walking our 4 month old pup, and said the Jaeger 8ft. lead is perfect. I've had one similar to the Jaeger for 30 years. It was great for hooking a dog to just about anything while out hunting.

This is the most awesome leash! (It's my second; I managed to leave my first in the parking lot at the vet's office.) I can adjust the length, use it as a slip collar--helpful in case of picking up strays, or even attach to myself--cross-body or belt-like, when I can't manage the leash and everything else. It's also strong--thick, riveted and stitched, great quality brass hardware. (The pet-store version I started with, which wasn't as versatile, it was thinner and only stitched, and that wore through while hiking--not a great situation!) Now to break it in and soften it up!

We love the variety of uses of this leash. It is quality leather and hardware. We take it everywhere with us, so it goes through the elements (rain, snow, dirt, sand...) and still is in great shape. It is our go to leash for sure! It's also a great leash for jogging with your dog. We love it!

I prefer to wear leash around waist. When dog is not attached it is too loose to stay on. Another stationary ring needs to be added to lick leash. Overall great product.

Sir. Barksley Cooper loves it. His powerful bite will hardly phase this tough leather double lead. You can run a staggered twin team or hook the lead on the center fixed D ring and enjoy a hands free walk. And when trekking through brush, this lead will not collect burrs or spines. Water exposure is fine it just makes it softer. Best lead purchase in all off my dog years.

I was surprised at the design of the leash once it arrived. The varied uses are endless. There are a couple places it could use some tweeking from the company; like a stationary or limited slip slider ring as well; but nothing major. Since my dog likes to also carry his own leash at times, this type of leather will be a bit harder for him to eventually bite through it; (unlike the last leather one I had). Also with the arthritis in my hands flarring up on occassion when I am walking my Golden, I use a belt & snap the leash to my waist. With this leash, I can choose between short or long distances from me to the dog. Plus when snowshoeing it's nice to be able to wrap the leash around the shoulder when not in use; as compared to stuffing it in my pocket. Every penny spent on this leash is worth it. And fast shipping from G.D.S. again is a reason alone I will keep dealing with them.

I keep coming up with new ways to use this leash. Quality is very good. Its a heavy saddle leather with solid hardware and stitching. Its very stiff at first, but a couple of treatments with saddle soap or mink oil, and it softens up. I suspect it will get uber soft with extended use. The leash can be configured to be a walking leash (long or medium), a tie out, a slip lead, a two dog lead, or an over the shoulder leash for when you are carrying things and walking the dog. Its heavy weight and ease on the hands make training more effective and enjoyable.
My trainer recommended it over the climbing rope leashes I usually use. Good advice. Even the dog behaves better when we use it. I still love the rope leads for hiking and for their lightweight and easy drying. But for training or in situations when I need my hands or more options, this is the go-to product. Worth every penny.

This is a good and very sturdy leather lead. It is similar to the German Jaeger style, but the loose ring on the lower section would be better as a fixed ring allowing easier over-the-shoulder wear. As a loose ring the leash can tighten up on the wearer in an annoying fashion.

I thought it is time for me to write a review on Jaeger Multi-Use Lead, since I have two of this leash and the first one is over 20 years old. The 2nd one I got with my second GSP. I use both when I have both dogs on leash at heel and the one end formed into a large loop over my shoulder. Hands free, while your heel walking, coming or going to the hunting fields. I also use the loop to hold the dogs to a tree, pole, or while resting at the truck looping the leash around the bumper so the dogs can water-up. While hunting the over the shoulder loop is an easy carry and the end to the dogs can be hooked to the big loop to form a short loop. This makes the whole leash out of the way, while hunting yet, easy to re-leash the dogs. Also, I can have two dogs on one leash for those short walks from the truck to the house. Just cannot go wrong with this leash, quality craftsmanship, excellent material used throughout the leash. Divide the cost by the years of service...makes this a bargain. Lastly, when people see me with this leash they ask where did you get this? I send them here to Gun Dog Supply, you just don't find it anywhere else.

I only gave a good rating because I'm not sure it my version is the exact same make/version. Otherwise this should be a good lead and truly multi use boot. Other possible uses are as a two dog lead and it is adjustable in length as a single dog lead, mine is adjusts from roughly 4-8'.
