The product is great for sure, no hesitation recommending it. That said the service, comms, & shipping from Gun Dog Supply couldn’t have been better. This was a gift for one of our sons who is an avid duck hunter. He had this on his Christmas wish list, I wasn’t sure what it was and by the time I decided to look and order it was getting pretty close to Christmas. I’m very glad I found it here, I included a brief note with my order about this being a gift and these guys couldn’t have been better!. Product arrived in just a couple days, well packaged and with time to spare. My son worked his dog with the launcher Christmas Day up on the canal behind our house. It’s a great training tool!! Also helps sap some of the endless energy his Lab has!!

We got this to work on hold with our young GSP. It shoots the dummy far enough that it’s a good chase. The dog LOVES it and it’s been effective for our training purposes. It is quite loud so not a good first step for sound training.

We got this as a training tool for our 2-year-old Lab to help him with marking birds. This launcher is super user-friendly and easy to carry. My 25-year-old daughter used the launcher and commented on how easy it was to use and that the size was perfect. The included dummy is easily visible, which we were initially concerned about, and loads onto the launcher perfectly. Our Lab had a great time retrieving the dummy and by the end of our training session was marking the dummy and making long retrievals. It does have a small bit of recoil and you definitely want to use ear protection when using it. This was well worth the investment!

Solid dummy launcher. Launches the bumper much farther than I can throw it, which is great as my dog has out grown my range! Only used a few times so far, but have gotten launches of 50-70 yards with the medium strength loads. Was a bit louder than I was expecting, but don't think that was unique to this launcher, but something to keep in mind when first using. Easy to hand and straight forward, simple instructions.

Great training tool for any dog. It works perfectly and with yellow load get you more than enough distance to work your dog. A little bit of pheasant scent and my dog doesn't want to stop working on retrieves.

Received the launcher soon after I ordered it and it performs as advertised. Ordered the yellow blanks and it will shoot the dummy +/- 250ft. Plenty of distance for training an upland pointing dog. Believe it when the reviews say it is loud and wear hearing protection. My wife had guests over and they came out to see what I was shooting - it probably did not help that I was launching the dummy as fast as the dog would retrieve it!

Not used for dog training but used to get tag line over tall trees. Works great!

It’s amazing how far a 22 blank will send this dummy. You need to point it up quite a bit or it will be over in the neighbors property. Works great, wear hearing protection because it’s very loud.

I had my previous launcher for 20 years ( purchased from Gun Dog as well) and was very happy with it, so when I had to replace it, I thought I could never find something as good. This launcher was even better. The recoil is negligible, and the shots are clean and long with the yellow loads. The dummy it came with is of good quality, too.

It was communicated to me that the product that we wanted was on backorder and that the product would be delayed in shipment. I appreciated hearing the truth for many reasons. Although we have not used the launcher yet (we have a pup) the product arrived in working order as promised. I do wish that we were told to order the 22 blanks with the order as I expected a few blanks to come with the product.

Best launcher EVER! Our Chesapeake loves it and lights up when we get and head outside. He will be a year old in May and this has been good to get him used to the sound of a gun and the fun of retrieving... Do yourself and your dog a favor and buy this! Highly recommended

DT handheld launcher is well made and very dependable. I’ve owned the other brand of handheld launcher and they work well for years. But after using the DT launcher I’ll never go back. The launcher feels solid in you hand which helps absorb the launch of the dummy. I highly recommend the DT launcher as one of your training tools.

Works great and is a great training tool. They are not kidding about it being loud. Shoots dummy a perfect range for training. Dummy with tail seems to work a little better with my son's dog but it could be the dog. Both work great.

A Great way to get your dog use to a gun shot. I have been using it with our 5 month old Labrador puppy. The shot does not bother her, she just concentrates on the dummy.

This is great. My dog is now looking up and also paying attention to my hands and where I'm pointing, just like I want him to in the blind. Shoots a smaller dummy far enough that he needs to take a line from me to get it.

Right out of the box the extractor was bent other than that it launches them pretty far unless you are working on water retrieves. The dummy floats great but once it is wet it barely launches a foot so I suggest bringing multiple dummies and continually drying them off.

Launcher works great. The red primers work very good too. I give it 5 stars.

Steve, the product is awesome!

Actually we bought the launcher to use in our water rescue and rope rescue group. We use the launcher to shoot a lightweight cord across open water from shore to shore, and then ferry heavier rope across with the light line. We had the opportunity to use one that another department had, and it works great! I have no reason not to believe it works as well for training dogs.

This has been a great tool for training my 5 month old lab. If you have ever seen how excited a good hunting dog gets about retrieving, that's how I feel about all the products I have purchased from Gun Dog Supply. Keep up the good work Steve.

Steve please help. I have used this soooo many times, and I can't get it to work. I live in North Dakota. Is there something I need to know about this product and the cold? Does it not work in the cold? It fires maybe 20 feet, that's it. Am I missing something? Please help me get it working. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!

This is my second hand launcher in 30+ years. They've come a long way! This is a substantial piece of equipment. Training alone makes multiple retrieve set ups difficult, but after two remote marks in the field, I use this for a "go bird" to wipe the memory birds. It reloads smoothly enough that I can even use it for doubles from the line. Happy I added it to my training arsenal.

This is exactly what I wanted. Inexpensive, simple to operate, and well built. This is the perfect way to teach your dog that the excitement of the gunshot will lead to the reward of another opportunity to retrieve.
