Needed a new pistol for field trialing and training. Thought it might be a bit louder than my old 209 primer pistol but my dog is used to hunting and it was perfect and functional. No problems or misfires. Arrived in a few days with regular shipping so could use it that weekend. Thanks for great service and timely delivery! Completely satisfied.

I’m a pro trainer and have used several brands of primer and blank pistols over the years and none have held up, some malfunctioning almost from the get go. These were all much less expensive and several people told me to bite the bullet and get the Alfa. Well built. Functions smoothly and flawlessly so far. Get the holster. To much gun for a pocket. You get what you pay for and so far I’m happy with the product. Would have given 5 stars but I haven’t used it long enough yet.

I had problems with another brand of starter pistols. Hoping this one lasts longer. Seems like the quality is better. The other brand eventually the 209 primers wouldn't fire. I assumed it was the firing pin. The other brand would just send me a new one. The other brand should last more than 100 rounds

THIS IS MY 3RD PURCHASE FROMM GUN DOG FOR STARTER PISTOLS. THIS IS MY 2ND 209 BECAUSE THE FIRST IS STARTING TO MISFIRE, SO I AM SENDING BACK FOR REPAIR. IT IS 3 YEARS OLD.
MY 32 AND NEW 209 WORK GREAT!
HOWEVER, MY HOLSTER I BOUGHT WITH THE LATEST PURCHASE HAS ALREADY BROKE! THE SNAP HAS PULLED AWAY FROM THE FEMALE PORTION OF THE SNAP. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED SO I INQUIRED ABOUT GETTING IT REPAIRE/REPLACED SINCE IT WAS ONLY A WEEK IN POSSESSION WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE OTHER ONE HAPPENED TO A YEAR-OLD HOLSTER AND I HAD A SHOE SHOP REPAIR IT.
PLEASE NOTE I LOVE THE GUNS!

The Alfa 209 .32 caliber starters pistol is the best I've ever used. I'd suggest getting the kit for easier transportation and cleaning on the spot. I use a few drops of gun oil also. Great buy!

This is a quality piece. A bit pricey but worth it. Accompanying holster is also high quality. The 209 primer system is very economical to shoot and is surprisingly loud. Very happy with this purchase.

Extremely well built. It's a bulky gun. Only real down side is you can't see how many rounds are spent without opening the cylinder and you need to take every primer out. Very difficult to take the spent primers out without taking all of them out of the cylinder.

Pistol is great. Easy to use. Great, consistent strikes every time. Holster takes a while to break in (still in the process), but very sturdy nonetheless. The ease of finding primers vs. blanks for me at my local Cabelas was a no brainer when choosing which Alfa pistol I was going to buy.

The kit is a little pricey, but leather holster is great as is the heft and balance of pistol. However, I did have a problem with 209 primers fitting the cylinder openings in two of the six openings. I sent an e-mail to Steve and there was an immediate response. New kit on the way with return label, and that is the five star part! Gun Dog Supply people are personable and a pleasure to deal with. Excellent product. I've used cheaper quality starter pistols in the past, and they tended to jam, and the trigger pulled very hard. The Alfa 209 is very high quality and should last a lifetime if properly cared for. Another nice feature is the cylinder. Holds 6 shots, The cheaper model I used previously only held 5.
