I love everything about this. I have not had to turn it past level 3. I do not have to use it much, my dogs listen pretty well. If they get hard headed, as soon as I put it on they listen like a champ. I can leave this sitting around for a month cut off and cut it on and it will still have a charge. The dogs go swimming with it a lot, it holds up well. I have recommended this product to many people, two thumbs up on the SD-425.

Dog became obedient within a short time after using the product. I'm very satisfied.

I love it. Magnolia is a little sensitive but head strong sometimes. I like the different options the SD425 offers. Plus she is only 35 lbs so the small receiver on the collar works great for her size.

Very pleased with the Sportdog 425. It didn't take long for my dog to learn with it. Would recommend it.

Option to beep or buzz is great. After a couple of times with the buzz, my dog responds quickly to the beep.

Great product. However, you really have to have the collar tight to be sure that the stimulation always works.

Would like a better charger. It is small and easily misplaced. Great product for training one dog

The first transmitter I received did not charge. Called troubleshooting number in the manual, and the representative was great. They sent me a new transmitter. When the new transmitter arrived, it did not charge. Called the troubleshooting number in the manual and the representative was, again, great. She told me that they replaced a part, and that they would send me another transmitter. The third transmitter works like a charm, and seems to be just about the only thing that can hold my male lab in a sit and stay while another lab retrieves.

The only thing missing would be a belt clip option, as its tedious to always have to hang it around the neck.

Collar battery does not hold charge as long as listed. I only get about half the amount of the charge. Also, the rubber plug for the charging port fell off after 3 weeks of use. Other than that, the system works very well. I have just ordered a replacement collar and will compare the duration of the charge and let you know if the replacement holds a longer charge as the manual states it should.

This is a great training tool. Taught my dog to quit barking in half dozen corrections. Basic obedience commands are a snap with this. Wish it was a bit stronger. I have not used it in the field, but my dog is very spirited when he finds a game bird.

Collar is excellent, and the customer service even better. News at the dog park is, this is the place to do business. After two days of working with my boxer, I am now the boss. I had to shock her once on the #1 setting, and she got the message to listen to me. Thanks.

I cannot say. The first one was defective, which I reported. Gun Dog Supply immediately sent another, which arrived promptly. Hard as it is to believe, it, too was defective, in the same way: the transmitter charging light did not come on, and the transmitter refused to accept a charge. (Both receivers were fine.) Thinking I must have done something wrong, I called your office and spoke to someone there, who verified that I had not. I decided to try another model, the 350, which has been shipped. I will give you a report after I have tried it. I will also return the two defective collars as soon as the new one arrives. The person I spoke with, whose name I do not know, was polite and helpful.

This product really helped in training my dog. I was able to do corrections and set boundaries from anywhere. I didn't have to be right next to her. The tone helps to get her attention and she stops what she is doing. I highly recommend this product.

I have an excellent squirrel dog. Her only drawback was killing my chickens. This collar is easy to carry with enough bite to get her attention. Before each shock, I would hit the button that makes the beeping sound, so now when she hears the beep she will lie down, no longer needing a shock. I rate this collar high for the main reason of being able to ride the 4 wheeler with the remote around my neck with no worries of it vibrating out of my pocket.

The collar has worked wonderfully in correcting undesired behaviors.

Very good product. Holds a charge a long time. There are 7 levels of correction. I've only had to use level 4 and usually keep it on level 3. I haven't tested the limits of correction distance, but so far, If I can see him, I can correct him.

When it works, it works great, but it does not give a consistent signal. I couldn't understand why. Sometimes she would ignore it, and other times yelp on the same setting. So I tested it on myself... Found it to be very inconsistent, especially when the battery get below about 75% charge. In Gun Dog's defense, they contacted me when I complained. But I never think to call until I am out in the field. I have found that if you play with the dial it works ok again.

Loved the previous version for it's reliability in wet & dry situations, but this newer one is lighter and smaller, and just as good. Who can argue with that! Thumbs Up!

I was about to give this a bad rating since this is the second one I have ordered in less than a year. Problems: Bad connection on charger. Charge prong broke and had to order another. Signal did not always transmit....at least thats what it appear. New one ordered seems to be better but jury is still out.

I love it. Battery lasts forever. Range is 10 times better than my previous collar. And its water proof.

Works well. Much more comfortable having the dog outside, off-leash, with it on. So good, my neighbor bought one for his Doberman.

Excellent training aid. With good range, would like to see a little better battery life, but overall a very solid unit.

Product immediately helped curb poor behavior by our pet, a 25# Schnauzer. Collar device was not too large and remote works quite well with sufficient range even while camping.

When this collar works it's great, and when it doesn't the dog pays the price. I have not looked into getting it repaired or replace yet. I have used it for about 2 months. Most of the time the lower setting range 2-3 works great. A shake of Gaby's head, and she is eyes on me looking for a command, or her hearing suddenly improves. But then there are times that I get no reaction at all. 4 no response 5 no response 6 still nothing... then 7... top of the range.. nothing... then after a few taps she screeches... I tested it on myself and found it was very inconsistent with impulse given. At times, but not always, I would get nothing on my wrist (with good contact) at level 1, 2, and 3... and zapped hard on 4... Have also tried repeatedly hitting the signal button 4 or 5 times on setting 3. The first few times, little or no signal, then bang. This seems to happen fresh off the charger or after a few hours in the field. Sometimes it works great for days. Other times it works about every other time. My guess is poor components or shabby construction. I can't wait till I can afford something better. I will be looking a little closer at the reviews next time.
