Product performs as described. Has been very helpful in training my Dalmatian puppy.

It has been so cold and snowy here in Chicago (the city itself) that I have only had a few opportunities to use the 425. Our dog and I have to learn more about it together. Two of our kids use the collar with their dogs and sold me on getting one. The few times I have used it, I have gained confidence in working with the dog. I feel that my rating will improve to excellent, as we get more opportunities to use it.

Training took 1 session. The Aussies are super sensitive. They will not leave sight of me, and recall is instant, even when they have alerted to wildlife and formerly would chase.

I had an older SportDog collar that died. This new version has many improvements. I particularly like the fast 2 hour charging and the change in color of the flashing light on the collar to indicate that it needs to be charged.

This collar system is very easy to use. I am a first time e-collar user and felt very comfortable using this unit. The remote transmitter is sized wonderfully, and I love its functionality.

I like having the options of tone, vibrate, and shock.

I am sending it back. Tried everything and was ineffective for my dog. Never had one problem with previous collar

I recommend these collars to clients who have large working dog breeds, but are just companion dogs. It's cheaper than the Tritronics and holds up well. However, Tritronics is still my preferred brand.

This collar worked the first time I used it. I rarely use more than the vibrate mode, depending on the amount of distraction. Great product.

So far it's great. I like the small size, light weight and long battery life between charges. I tried another brand 2 years ago, and I like the SportDog much better. The real test will be how it holds up over time.

My correction just once has reduced her barking at people in my presence considerably.

Product works great. The first unit I received was defective, but the company quickly replaced it, and I've had no problems since. I have a 3yr old malinois that has had some training. The SportDog 425 really reinforced all his training, and he is now at the top of his class. Commands are obeyed immediately and on the first request. This is really the fastest way to train your dog. I'm impressed.

It's working better than I could have imagined.

I had a G2 Sport Garmin, and the battery went dead in 14 months :( so I bought this from watching the video (thanks Steve!). What's nice is it vibrates, and that's usually all I need to get the dogs attention. Time will tell though, because I've only had it a few weeks, which is not long enough. Ask me in a year, although the video says they used it a year on their Lab with no issues.

The partnership I have with my Doberman Nina has only gotten better since the SportDOG FieldTrainer SD-425. Communication is so much easier, I wish I had done the investment long ago.

The SD-425 seems to be a really well made unit. It has very user friendly controls, multiple features and options, as well as being very compact. Not only the controller, but the collar is very light and slim, yet seems very durable. I've used other training collars in the past, including an older Tri-Tronics unit that I was not near as pleased with, as I am this unit. It's a smarter design than I've seen or used. Even down to the ability to use it ALL day, then completely recharge it in only two hours!! The German Shepard I'm using it on weighs about 105lbs., is VERY active, and responds to a level 1 nick with no further stimulation needed. (Unit has 1-7 level settings). Great product!! I'd highly recommend it!

The training information, and the collar work wonderfully. It performs exactly as described, and we have not been disappointed.

I love the trainer. My dog has really responded to it, and the vibrating collar is a great feature. I don't have to shock her, I just vibrate the collar and she knows to respond. I do wish it had a little more shock at level 7 for the days she needs the extra correction. Had I to do it all over again, I think I would have gotten the 425S.

Having this remote collar makes having a pet more enjoyable!! It works like a charm!!

Works great. 1 year old took to the SD-425 with in 2-3 days. The reach is great. As soon as she hears the tone, she is paying attention. I very seldom have to use any other stimulation. She also loves the collar. If I put it on her, she knows we are doing something she loves to do. Have a hard time taking it back off of her. Great product!

I only shocked him once on #1 and now just a beep works.

This product is terrific. I finally have control of my strong-minded dog in the woods and at the dog park. It has been a great supplement to my training efforts. It worked instantly. My dog was very responsive to the tone only. I seldom need the stimulation. I recommend it to all my dog friends. Thanks.

Works great, but buttons are difficult with gloves on.

I don't even need the shock part, the warning Buzz gets his attention right away. He tends to stick a lot closer but he will get braver

The Field Trainer SD-425 is an easy to use collar. I bought it to help reinforce commands when my dog is out of sight or has a "squirrel!" moment. My area is home to deer, and little quick movement animals so even walking to the local park can be an excersice in " Leave it!". The SD-425 quickly reminds my 90lbs dog to listen. This is just another tool to use in our daily training times, and it gives me a sense of relief to know now that I have the ability to remind my dog that my word is law, even 100 meters away.

The small size of both the controller and the collar are fantastic! Not too sure about the tuning dial, needs more levels, but he's growing 6 lbs a week! Gun Dog Supply is the best source for e collars. The video reviews were invaluable. Reviewed all collars here and compared prices elsewhere and bought here.

Helped off-leash obedience drastically. Accelerated my puppy's learning curve while keeping training fun for both of us.

Some trouble figuring out the directions. Called about it, and have hunted since, but still not sure if the dog is receiving the power. Will keep trying. Have a shortage of quail it seems.

I have been very satisfied with this collar. It is just as advertised on your website. My dog is just over 7 months old and knows the basic commands (sit, stay, heel, come). I bought the collar because he was becoming a little hard-headed.... following the commands when he wanted to, especially when he was away from me. The collar has him focused again. I really like the vibration/beep option in addition to the stimulation. Follow the instructional video. Make sure your dog knows the basics and this collar will be a huge help.

It is easy and simple. It seems durable. It is everything I was hoping for.

Let me start by saying that my dog is not full time e-collar training yet. She is still a little young, but we do use it from time to time. I am very happy with the time I have spent with the collar. I am excited because of the tone function. I live in Ohio where we get 'weather'. I like that I have 400 yards that are in affected by wind direction. It feels solidly built, and the few times I have used it, it produced the results that I expected. In about a month is when I am expecting to go full time. I am excited that if I keep this collar for a few years, I can get replacement batteries. This makes it exciting to know my next dog I can use this same collar on.

I really like the vibe and tone option. With my dog, that is really all that I need.

I've been using the 425S for 4 days now, and the change in behavior in Sophie, my very active and aggressive bully girl, has been amazing. I've been fostering Sophie for 5 months now, and working on her aggression issues on a regular basis with trainers and on my own. I'm sure all that work formed a solid basis for the change this week, but her responses to commands are so good now that I rarely have to actually 'nick' her. Before, her responses would depend on her mood and the situation, and you could see that she was making decisions before complying or ignoring commands. Now her response is immediate with no thinking involved. I'm finally confident that she will thrive when she finds her forever home!

This is the first trainer that I have used with tone and vibration and it is great. Very easy to use and reliable.

Great E-Collar for close work, and a great value.

This collar has really helped with my dogs. We live in the middle of town and like to let the dogs roam the yard (pretty good sized area), but we had a problem with one constantly barking at the people that would come and go at the park across the street. This collar has helped us give immediate corrections when necessary, and we love that it came with the vibrate and tone (that's all we ever needed to use after the first few times).

Dexter, my Fox Terrier is very stubborn and very active like most Fox Terrier are. I have tried another collar from another company prior to acquire the SD-425. I'm very happy with the way our dog rspond since we started training him with the SD-425.

I like this training aid. I've found it to be effective and simple to use. I needed a trainer that was simple to use, easy to carry, waterproof, and able to deliver over a distance of 20-200 meters. I got it all with this trainer. Good price and good product. And it has proven to hold a charge - big plus.

Collar works very well. I love the three functions. While using I notice my dog (Molly) responds more to the vibration, which I like a lot. Having the audio, vibration and stimulation mode is perfect for training. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a E collar.

Outstanding! After a few days of training, my dog works the fields, but stays around and response to any corrections. Being a puppy (9 months), he has loads of energy, but I am comfortable in knowing that he responds to my calls and returns to me. No Lost Dog!

Had the SD 400 for years. The only issue I ever had was the 12 hour recharge time. The 425 takes care of this issue. Love it. Strongly recommend.

Paid attention to the DVD and worked a little harder on Nib's skills on her leads, 8' & 30', before using the e-collar. The results were really gratifying. Responsiveness is good and she's quickly correcting some behaviors that she picked-up under her previous owners. I'm new to the technology, but the theory makes sense. I'll standardize on the Robin MacFarlane protocols for consistency and look forward to even greater improvement.
