This unit is an upgrade to my SD 100/200. We go for 2 mile walks every day, no leash and everyone says 'your dog is well behaved.' I show them the remote and tell them that all dogs could walk with one. Thanks for the support.

This is a great product. I mainly got it since my yard isn't fenced, and it allows my dog to run freely without getting too far out of sight. She does great and responds to the beep without even having to apply the shock. Awesome product. Worked so well we bought 2, one for each of our dogs.

Why do you have excellent already chosen if this is a survey for customers to fill out? I did like the quick mail service as I've had problems with UPS in the past. The collar works. My kitty sized dog is not running away while we walk in the woods anymore and can be trusted off leash.

My shepherd always wanted to chase my horses. It only took a few corrections while using the collar. We have a much better behaved dog while in the yard and around my horses.

We LOVE our SportDOG dog trainer. Our lab is one year old, and we have had it for 2 weeks now and Bailey is so much more well behaved. Monty's immediate response when he is in his collar is amazing. Behaves so well I rarely have to activate it as he knows his limitations. Such a well behaved dog. I would recommend this collar to any dog owner.

This collar has worked very well on my dog. He is still very young, so I like how the stimulation is adjustable. He has caught on rather quickly. It is helping out tremendously with going for walks and paying attention to commands. I love this collar!

Awesome product!! Have had this for a few weeks and only needed to :tic: her once. The sound button does the trick every time. Highly recommended!! Just putting the collar on her seems to work just fine and she behaves very well.

An awesome tool. Our dog Kiya loves to be outdoors and like most dogs will chase any bird, squirrel and even deer. The simple tone/vibration will redirect her attention and she will come right back. We are fortunate that she is such an awesome dog with a great personality. But having the collar helps us with keeping her close when she needs to be.

I've been through many training collars over the years. Everyone has failed in a few months, and they weren't cheap. I've waited 4 months to review this SD-425. Using it daily, it hasn't let me down. All I need to use is the tone for Toby. When he sees geese and forgets, I tap the vibration. The charge lasts more than a month. It's great over all. Thanks Steve for breaking down all the Trainers to 5 that would fit my needs.

We live next to woods, and every time I would let her out she would make a beeline for the wood to chase deer, rabbits, squirrels, and be gone until she was ready to come home or until I found her wonder around back their. Once I got the SD-425 collar I literally used it 3 times before she understood my commands to come back. Now all I say is I'll get the collar, and she stops and comes back. Thank you Steve for offering a great product!

Worth the investment.

My puppy is only 3 months, so I have not really used it on him yet other than putting it on him to play so he associates a good time with the collar. I will start using it when we work on come command. Overall I am pleased, but wish the collar had another loop on it to contain the excess. Currently he is very small, and he can get to the excess collar and chews on it. I am afraid to cut too much off for fear that it will be too small when he is an adult. This is my first hunting dog, and I must say that I am very grateful to have stumbled upon this site. Although I have only made 1 purchase, I have read countless articles and reviews on other products. The information was very helpful, and this is now my go site for my gun dog questions and products.

Out of 14 settings to nick, I have no need to go over 3. I have no idea what 14 would be for. An Elephant perhaps. All kidding aside, great investment. Saved me $$$$$ for a trainer.

Love this!! Works perfectly every time. I usually only have to use the beep or the vibration. Apart from off leash obedience I've been able to ditch the prong collar. Now I wall him on a normal flat collar and just give him a vibration when he starts pulling and stops immediately. He has an excellent track record with near perfect recall but recently started acting up as I got a new puppy. This has given me back my obedient dog with very little effort. I'm so grateful!!!

It's a great training tool. I have a huge back yard, and it works great.

I love it. My dog hates it! She just turned one year old, and this is a super useful tool in her training. She responds to the lowest level (#1), and it's awesome that she comes when I call her. I don't even have to 'nick' her anymore! I hardly ever use the remote, because she is getting well trained after just a few weeks of using the Trainer. Highly recommend.

I call it his hearing aid. I only have to use the vibrating feature, and I like that. The collar doesn't have to be very tight at all, and he likes that. Great product. I liked the fact that if I didn't like it you would take it back.

Easy to understand and operate. Achieved the desired results on my 7-month-old chocolate in just 2 days! Now I only need an occasional nick to keep him on the straight and narrow.

By far the best unit I have ever used. Charges in 2hrs and runs 50 hours. Makes my old Tri Tronics unit look bleak. Do not hesitate to buy this unit. Has tone and vibration plus small and compact. Unbelievable unit. They just need better stickers to put on your truck! Haha, was free tho so.....

I've had this for a couple weeks and am still training myself and my dog. The concept is great, but it is not necessarily easy if your dog is strong willed. Lucky me, mine is. She is a Lab mix and is very tolerant to all physical sensations. Nothing really bothers her. I can tell she feels it at the moderate level 2, thinks about it and will come. It's not an instant turn about. In high distraction situations I have turned it up to 5, and she comes around. Again, not instantly. So in a dangerous situation, like a car coming, I'm not sure it will help. But reading other reviews, I think it's her, not the device. So if you have a strong minded dog, beware it's not a cure all. As for the device itself, I would change a few things. 1) The numbers don't stand out, so I can't instantly see where I'm at and where I need to go. If you take your dog out in the pm, which is 4:45 in the winter, you're out of luck. 2) If it's winter and you have gloves on, good luck turning the dial. Likewise if your hands are wet via rain or snow. It is only user friendly in broad, dry daylight.

Best investment when training a dog. Worth every penny.

Hard to tell. Used it for half day then reciever came off dog in field ( most likely by fault). Than I left transmitter on top of car and drove off. Had better days. I am sure it is a great product. Paul

So far, so good. I use it minimally, so I'm not sure when to recharge it and whether recharging uses up the battery. I keep the collar on when I'm out with my dogs, but if I don't use the transmitter, do I have to charge that?

Love it! The charge lasts long and works reliably. I walk my dogs in the woods daily and love being able to know I don't have to worry about them taking off after the deer. One beep, and they break their run and return to me.

Good e-collar trainer.

This is my 3rd Sport Dog Collar, but the 1st 425 model I have found that the 425 beep mode is not very loud at all. I cannot hear it standing by the dog. It doesn't seem to be as effective as the 420 or the 420s model, even though it is its replacement.

Great collar for the price. This is my second sport dog collar.

Our Brit loves to obey, so training is not a challenge. However, he is also bird crazy, so when we are in the woods we would need to have him on a long lead. The first time we used this collar there was no lead needed. The 1 setting was as high as we had to go and only used that when there was a bird. Great product.

Just the tool I needed to get him quicker to respond during distracted situations. No problems at all!

My Doberman works off leash with the SportDOG Field Trainer SD-425 without any problem. He responds well to the tone accompanied by my voice command. If he is really busy with a squirrel he may need the vibration to get his attention. The rotary dial makes it easy to change from vibrate/tone to a more aggressive stimulation, but he never seems to require it. The collar is small enough that it does not hinder his movement and the controller is small enough that it will fit in my pocket...easy for both of us. Since I rarely allow him out of my sight the 500 yard range works well at the bark park, my back yard, or going for a walk in the neighborhood. Great product!
