Best option out there
September 7, 2020
These are the best dog boots I have used. They hold up better than any of the fabric and Velcro boots I have used, and stay on better when put on with the sticky side out duct tape on the leg with another piece wrapped around (watch the video on the product page). They are lighter and more pliable than they look in the photos.
Cons
- Can rub on the tops of the feet and legs after a lot of miles.

These dog boots are made of a tough rubber. So far they seem to be able to with stand the tough rocky cactus infested terrain we have here in Southern Arizona. I recommend them.

Require a little patience and finesse to put on. The dog seems to tolerate them fairly well. Are durable and stay on. Lost one boot in deep snow and cattails last December. I may not have gotten it on correctly. The other one stayed on all day.
Pros
- Durable
- Stay on well
- Dog tolerates
Cons
- A little difficult to put on
Amazing!

I’ve gotten so many comments and requests on these booties! I take my dog hiking with them and they’re super easy to get on/off, durable, easy to clean, and my dog loves them! As long as they are fitted and on properly, they’ll last for miles!

Boots are excellent. They protect the dogs pads and keep us hunting all day. Easy to put on and take off.
Best dog boots ever!

These are great boots. First time or two takes longer than you'd like but after that, it's pretty easy. Steve says don't use cheap duck tape, I second that. And watch his video. One of my setters had a sore foot from a cut and stitches, she wore the boots for an entire day of hunting and I couldn't see a difference in her gait, and she wasn't sore when we got done.

I use these boots for an old dog who is losing mobility and requires boots to protect his feet from dragging. I really like the fit, the molded design works much better than standard tube sock style dog booties. The rubber is thin, which I solved by having the shoe repair shop put an extra sole onto the bottom.

Only boot that has stayed on my dog after she ran a race!
Great fit and instructional video for putting boots on. Dog got used to them within 5 minutes. We have had trainings with boots on, but not hunted a full day yet. Looking forward to seeing how she does.

Don't leave home without em, especially if you plan on hunting for several days, it can really wreck a hunt when you realize that your dog's pads are all cut or sliced, or that they are raw from the conditions in the field.

The only boot that I have found that works in the AZ desert. We hunt on a lot of rock covered ground. They save his pads but are a little tough on the skin from rubbing. I have tried various methods to prevent this including baby socks and various athletic tapes.

I have had Siberians for 40 years. I have been unable to put these boots on most of them, but my current dog allows it. I use boots in the snow to prevent ice balls. I may use them in the summer in hot sand and rocks and cactus. The Lewis boots stay on better, and are more durable than any other boot that I have tried. And I have tried many! The only minus is that they are harder to put on and remove. Dewclaws are less of an issue with these boots than with many. The front boots are still a bit tricky with the carpal pad and dewclaws. The boots still tend to creep forward, but at least they rarely come all the way off. Siberian legs and paws are not shaped quite like hound legs and paws. I like Vetrap and wide first aid tape better than duct tape. I would suggest watching the excellent video on this site.

Very good product. Correct installation is critical. Where we hunt in SW KS they are a must. Nothing on the market is as durable and protective. Strongly suggest buying two pairs for each dog in the event of boot loss during hunt.

They did fine. Been using Lewis boots for 50+ years. I ordered the wrong size. They're a little small for her, but they are fine.

I'm sure people that use this boot love it if they hunt a couple of hours per day. It is not for the dog that works 8-10 hours at a time. He gets hot spots in the tops of his toes and on his legs where the boot rubs. It seems to just transfer the hot spots and raw spots from the bottom of his feet to a different spot on the top of his feet and legs.

Maybe I didn't put them on correctly, but out of three dogs I lost 8 boots before the morning was out. I wish there were some boots that came up higher on the leg that attach to more surface.

This is my 3rd set. My bird dogs run hard in the desert and a cut pad will really lay a dog out. Cut knuckles from grass in Montana is tough on a dog too. These boots prevent these injuries from happening. Burrs and cactus almost bounce off these boots. They're great! I love them!

I have tried several different styles of boots and have been disappointed with all of them. These boots are incredible, easy to put on, and easy to get off. They do everything that the fancy ones with all the buckles, straps, Velcro, and zippers will do. I have finally found dog boots that are user friendly and effective.

The boots work great and fit great. We even found out that our Lab can swim just fine in them (the dog's choice to find this out, not mine.)
For my 49lb GSP, I should have ordered the L not the XL is all. Boots worked great on the beach even with oyster shells everywhere which are like razors.
Could not keep them on. She keeps losing them.
They work in sharp limestone country.
These are awesome! My dog doesn't even acknowledge that they are on his feet!!! A+!!!! Very fast shipment and communication as well!!!
The boots are much better than any of the others we tried. My dog has a hip issue, so she drags her back toes when I walk her. I would love to get the XXL though. She needs socks and is a tight fit.
Good quality and easy to use
The first 5 minutes were a little comical w/ dog high stepping like a Clydesdale, then it went great. Didn't even do vet tape underneath and had no rub spots. No more trips to vet after grass seeds and thorns cause infected toes.

Great boots. Stops every cacti in California. Can be a little hard to get on. I use toddler socks to prevent any rub marks on her paws.
