Soft, cleans easily and well constructed

Love these collars. This isn't the first time I have ordered them. The last two I ordered for our two English Setters were still in good shape when I ordered these latest ones. Just changed the color back to the bright orange this time. I like them much better because, although they are big dogs, the collar just makes it easier to spot them when they are out and about. They last forever too.

These are perfect collars. My dogs like to wrestle and grab each other by their collars and these will withstand the ruff play. I really like the fact that with their personal ID tag mounted on the collar I can eliminate the ID tag that hangs with the rabies tag which eliminates a bunch of jingling noise!

My dog loves to roll in deer poop, we've been through many collars the past few years. This one fits her the best. Very soft and washable. It looks great on her.

Soft material and great price

Our dog trainer in North Georgia suggested we needed a “proper collar” for our Boykin Spaniel that would be with him for several weeks of extended retriever-training. The Super-Heavy Biothane Standard was recommended. This collar is indestructible - perfect for water conditions. We change up the colors for each season!

Collar is excellence. Bright orange make it more visible. Collar is very strong exceptionally with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

In all honesty, I was somewhat mislead by the words “Super-Heavy”. That it is not, too light, too soft and flimsy in my opinion for my German Shorthair and her hunting drive. I’d recommend a change in advertising wording on this collar. Next time, I won’t be lead by wording and will just buy the more expensive ones with hopes of it feeling heavier and more sturdy for a high energy dog. I guess I was just trying to be economical. The name plate is sufficient, but is not curved to take the natural shape of the dogs collar. I guess I’m just too particular and had to take the new collar back off my dog and slightly form the brass name plate into a slight curve for the collar to have a natural round, curved shape. She’s now wearing it and will continue until time to replace, which I expect will be soon. Time will tell. Thank you for the fast service.

I've purchased several of these as they are durable and clean easily. However, this has happened to me twice now where the rivets holding the name tag bend out and end up cutting my dog's neck. I don't notice until the bare hair starts showing on her neck. I suppose I will just have to forego the name plates until there is a solution to covering the rivets better. There is another supplier that covers the rivets with a round metal cap that I may purchase more of since I don't like the sound of the extra name tag dangling from the collar. Otherwise the collar itself is great.

Great material

As always when I've ordered from Gun Dog Supply, the collar was fantastic, thick and heavy duty, the tags were printed perfectly (including the second one I added) and mounted to the collar perfectly balanced and centered. Fast shipping, great service, and overall kickassery that I have come to expect from GDS. If they have it, I won't be buying it anywhere else.

The collar has a luxurious feel like worked unsplit leather but doesn't have the mold and smell issues. The addition of the tag makes this collar a bargain. I buy all my collars from Gun Dog Supply because of the quality and stamped tags. I always get mine with a center ring for quick and comfortable leashing.

Our GSP is practically invisible with the fallen leaves. This collar makes it so much easier to watch her. I'm enjoying her runs now that I'm not panicking she's run off!

After my dog wore the collar for only four days the name plate bent and the rivets started to pull out. UPS shipping for return was going to be $24. Luckily Customer Service agreed to a refund over the phone.

First, I probably could have ordered a collar that was one size smaller. The only minor problem with the collar is that the O-ring was too thick to allow me to attach the dog's rabies tag to it. I had to get a special fastener from the vet's office to attach the rabies collar.

So far so good after a week. Solid, tough collar. Engraving could have been a little deeper on the name plate.

Great collar. Stays cleaner than cloth ones and doesn't stink after Tobi dives into a creek or pond after a fallen bird. Tag and mounting are solid and top quality. Great value for money.
