Love the collar, however it does not fit well on my Westie dog. To heavy for his neck and does not sit well around his neck. Just order a cloth one which may be more flexible and sit better on his neck. Returning the leather collar.

We lost our German Wirehair last year. This was the only collar he wore for 18 years (he was buried with it). When we decided to get another dog this past month the choice of collar was never in question...quality design, materials and construction!

Collar is well made and rugged, and the dog likes it. It looks great, and with the name plate riveted to the leather it should remain attached unlike the name tags that hang by a small split ring. Your customer service is awesome.

I bought this collar as a replacement for the same collar that was 6 years old. The old one broke at the nameplate after years of work. Max is a tough dog to walk when he smells a lady, and he literally snapped the collar when he took off, and I held the leash. This collar is handsome and durable. He has been returned to us about 15 times over the 6 years we had the collar by people calling my phone number or simply bringing him home. I wouldn't consider buying anything else. Great product.

This collar is gorgeous. I never liked all the 'fashion' collars you find at the pet store. This collar is classic, and I don't have to worry about the tag hooks getting caught on anything since it's bolted onto the actual collar. I was surprised at the quality of this collar for the price. My dog swims in the ocean often and even the saltwater hasn't damaged the the collar. It has a very nice finish, and the free nameplate is an attractive touch.

If you're not the type of person that enjoys receiving compliments, then don't buy this collar. Not only do we have a beautiful Chesapeake Bay Retriever, but we have a gorgeous collar to boot. We have only had the collar for 1 month, so I can't speak for its durability, but judging by the thickness of the leather and quality of the hardware, I imagine it to last the lifespan of our girl. We really have received several compliments at the campgrounds, and I tell them to visit gundogsupply.com. Customer service is top notch. I received an email after the order was placed, when it was being made, and another when it shipped ALL IN THE SAME DAY!! Having two connection points on the collar for leashes and tie-outs is very handy. The engraving on the brass name plate is deep and crisp. To some this may seem silly, but if you haven't noticed by now I'm long winded. When I first ordered this collar my wife was afraid we would miss the jingle of our old collars identification tag as our dog walked through the house. And at first we did. But after a few swims and a few leash walks the leather loosened up and the D-ring started to make a nice tinkle sound against the brass buckle as our girl pranced through the house. I hope Steve and his team never stop making this collar. If for some reason it ever wears out I would definitely order another. Proud to own one of your high quality collars. Thanks

I found collar quality to be far inferior to the mendota collar I purchased from you last year. It is getting better with use. The only reason a new collar was purchased was dog's name and my address have changed, and I needed a collar with nameplate to reflect the new information. The nameless best seller is also one hole to tight compared to the mendota.. When purchasing over the net, you take a gamble. I gave the operator the neck size of the mendota collar with all expectation of that being enough to assure proper fit from the new nameless collar. If my lab were to gain a few pounds, the collar would be useless to me. Therefore, I am not a happy camper.

I have three very large dogs and they are tough on a collar. The collars from Gun Dog are durable and actually look and feel better as the leather ages. The name place is the perfect I.D. for my dogs, for they tend to lose every tag I have ever put on them. Great product!

She is very comfortable wearing the collar. I am very pleased with it. LT used to wear a harness and now if I try to put it on her, she runs away but not with the collar. I also know that when she is on her leash outside, she will be very secure and no way of getting loose. We live on a busy road. Thanks for the peace of mind!

Service was amazing. I ordered the incorrect size initially and sent it back without any questions. Within days I had the correct size with a new name plate with only shipping cost.

I was replacing an old collar from you (new phone #). So I measured the collar, not my dog's neck. Unfortunately, that meant the new collar is a little too big for him. My mistake. I should have measured just to where the old one fit.

Really like the collar. Should have gone a size bigger, but that was my fault. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the stitching zigzags a little in a couple spots.

I first saw this leather collar with the Name Plate at a friends, and asked him where he got. He told me and I went home and ordered it. I love it. This Is a great collar at an awesome price! I have dogs that play hard and chew each others collar. This collar lasted 3 years of heavy wear and tear before I had to replace it.

It's a great collar. Heavy duty and should last for years. We have one for each of our 3 big dogs. Unfortunately, one of our dogs chewed the collar off of our Sophie, so this one was a replacement. Sadly, she managed to chew the new one right off of her as well. So as much as I'd like to re-order, we are going to let the young dog mature a bit before we replace it again!

Again, EXCELLENT product at an EXCELLENT price for a collar of this quality. Only addition I would make is to please offer in a larger size: I purchased the largest model offered (21 inch?) and I COULD have used a 22 or even 23 inch model for my LARGE GSD.

Good quality, but leather is way too stiff for me. But I do have dexterity issues with my fingers, so I have trouble buckling and unbuckling.

Collar doesn't hang very well on their necks. Not too sure if I would purchase anymore.
