I had a dog trainer help me with the functions of this system, as I didn't want to rely solely on the DVD and instruction booklet. It is very easy to use, and I think it is a better option than the electric fence for our yard. Our dog is responding very well to training with the collar.

Amazing shipping, product works great, and now I have control of my Vizsla off leash. I couldn't be happier. I have not used it at long distances yet (only about 50yds).

When collar conditioning my Boykin, I found my other big name collar was too hot. Went to this collar to get smaller receiver and multiple level option on collar. Proved to be a excellent choice for a smaller dog that needs very little pressure.

This could easily be a 4 or maybe 5 star rating, but the collar is ridiculously narrow and flimsy. I'm coming out of 6 years of using a Tri-Tronics Sport Basic G3 which had a thick, substantial collar that was easy to put on and take off. I noticed on a lot of Steve's reviews he mentions that these newer eCollars are are designed to fit smaller dogs. In doing so, I think SportDOG and other brands have lost sight of their main customers - people with medium to large dogs. Other than that, the remote gets high marks for design and functionality. Make a bigger collar.

I have only had it a few weeks and love them so far. I like the louder beep they have and the vibration feature. So far I would definitely recommend.

Like it. Good: Charges in 2 hours. Keeps charge for several hours. Training video a nice touch, informative and helpful. What I'd change: make it simpler. Instead of 7 different modes (not intensity levels - those are just fine), have just 2-3 different modes. Also, the charger receiver prongs in the collar and handset are tiny, and mine have already gotten bent when I tried to attach them to the charger. Perhaps just have a charging station to attach the collar to, rather than have to plug in both the collar and handset.

Great training tool. Able to slip to tone, vibration or stim easily as correction is needed. Haven't checked waterproof yet, but with Lab I am sure soon.

Works well and is easy to use. Website had great comparison info to help us choose. Picked this due to longer probes, which are able to get through the thick fur.

We recently adopted our dog to be a family companion and running partner. He is awesome, but his prey drive is over the top. He had put himself and me in some dangerous situations by chasing things (trains, for example). The collar works well and he has responded very quickly to it. He even wags his tail when he sees the collar, because he knows that we are about to head out for FUN. This particular model was recommended to me because it works well for dogs with longer hair. I also love the fact that there is a tone and vibration setting. I truly believe that this collar may save my dog's life some day.

Love the new close to the neck receiver. It fits my dog's neck so much better. The vibrate feature is excellent especially because he does not always need to be corrected with a shock. Great purchase.

The training collar worked great! It's easy to use. Good instructions. I had to only shock her 3 times starting at level 1 and went up to level 3 and then back down to level 2 to get her to be more obedient. I use the tone now to get her attention, and she is quite a smart dog, and knows that this means to come to me. Excellent product. Very happy with the purchase and the results. Worth every dollar!

Great training aid. When the collar goes on the attitude and focus change. Now that he felt the stim, when he doesn't listen I can use the tone as a warning, and it is more than enough to get his attention. The beeps alone change his attitude. Great piece of gear. Makes training a 3 month old Lab much easier.

Rugged, dependable and waterproof with long battery life. Completely charges within 2 hours. Excellent feeling stimulation dialand the perfect size transmitter. The vibration and tone additions are extremely useful. I extensively searched all brands of e-collars, and I am VERY pleased with my selection of the SportDOG Brand.

This replaces a Tri-Tronics G50 which recently died. Pros: much more compact. The small collar fits my dog much better. Also, the default points are much longer than the default G50 or the Garmin Delta. My dog, while small, is jowly and has a lot of loose flesh around the neck. I did not need to go up to the long points with this collar, and I no longer have problems with the points getting lost in his jowls. The separate tone button is a good feature. Cons: a) sometimes it is hard to turn the collar on/off. There is no danger here of it accidentally getting turned off in the field Unfortunately, I'm not seeing a good way to correct this. Tri Tronics sometimes got turned off accidentally.b) I'm not fond of the rubber covers over the charging stations. I think the Tri Tronics way is better. Overall: it's a great system and I prefer it to its predecessor.

I've had the collar for a month now and it's working great. Both the collar and transmitter hold a good charge. Only had to charge the collar once, and I've been using it everyday.

I have only had the collar for a few weeks, but so far it has vastly improved the quality of life of my dog (and myself)! We are avid hikers/climbers and are outside every weekend. After five or six weekends of having our dog run away during our hikes, we decided it was safer to not allow our dog to be off leash. This was not ideal for us or her (she is young, has lots of energy and is very independent). We've participated in training classes with three separate dog trainers to try to curb her habit of running away...all of the trainers overwhelmingly recommended trying an electric collar due to her extreme prey drive. I was wary at first, but after a few weeks of use, I think the collar is great. She has a much higher quality of life. We received training on how to use the collar through a local dog trainer and we practiced the technique before putting it to use. Now our dog can explore on her own during our hikes. Her recall is close to 100%, even when she is focused on prey. I really like this specific collar for numerous reasons. The remote is very user friendly. The dial to adjust the intensity is tough to move, which is good, because it will not accidentally shift up to a higher intensity. The collar itself appears comfortable--our dog does not have any problem wearing it for 4-5 hours at a time during longer hikes. She is a 45 pound Australian Kelpie mix and the size is perfect. It's as if it's not on her. I highly recommend this! I also highly recommend purchasing through Gun Dog Supply--after lots of online research, I concluded their price for this collar was competitive with all the other retailers and their level of service was excellent.

Great product. Only had it about a month, but it sure does the trick. My 5 month GSP now ALWAYS comes to me when I whistle. I hardly ever have to push the button anymore. But I do like to keep the collar on him just in case.

Sensitive dog with a strong hunting drive. The highest setting on this unit did not even get her attention. In fact, the page and vibrate modes were more effective than any electric setting, but those modes are not enough for every situation. Gun Dog Supply is great! Return/refund without a problem. Will try another collar through them.

Worked wonderful!!

I bought this collar to replace an old collar that quit working. It is much smaller and lighter and has a lot more features than my old one. I just got back into bird hunting, and this is a new dog (pup). Things have improved a lot. I like the tone feature. It is funny to watch the dog learn that he is to pay attention when he hears it. Good collar so far.

My 5 year old female Great Pyrenees is notorious for getting out of her yard - either chewing a hole through the mesh, climbing the gate (which is now electrified along with the rest of the fence) or digging under. Then, when called after getting out, she would run the other way. (Comes just fine when loose in the yard.) Just two weeks of intermittent observation and timely shocks have her staying in her yard and coming at a run when turned loose (admittedly a pretty rowdy training time, but well worth it). I trained and competed with obedience dogs for years and never needed a shock collar, but this dog is REALLY hard-headed. The collar performed every time and is easy to use. I recommend it for any trainer with a really difficult dog, but as with any type of training, timing is everything, especially with a shock collar because it leaves a permanent impression.

I use it every day and I have told my friends its the best collar I've used in 15 years.

Haven't used it yet. Gun Dog Supply customer service was outstanding, though.

This is my first e-collar, and I did extensive research before buying. I am impressed with the unit as well as the instructions included. Very helpful. A bark limiter option would be a nice addition, but not a necessity, and it wouldn't have swayed me to other brands. The collar is compact, and both components are waterproof, as they should be for outdoor gear. There should be an off switch on the transmitter, too. The whole unit is solid, and I highly recommend it for capability, expandability and ease of use.

Good vibrator, tone, range and intuitive controls. Antenna could be less obtrusive. Gets stuck when it's with other gear in a pocket Garmin antenna is a good model, but Garmin lacks the good features above.

Excellent range. Various stimulation levels are great for different situations.

Good price, quick delivery. Our 10-month old was starting to wander off to visit toward the end of walks, and can't stop himself from racing to socialize with other walkers, and especially their dogs. The dogs also go along on horseback rides where a lot of distance is covered, and we needed a decent range to be able to use a collar. One correction, and now he responds immediately to the sound alone. Very nicely made product. Easy to use.

This ecollar has worked great for what I need it to do. I am still trying to work out the intensity level for my dog. Very easy to figure out all the different setting.

Follow the directions, put in the time and it works great! We have had a little trouble with the collar after 6 months, and when we called SportDOG, they were very helpful and ready to solve the problem.

Remote has a long battery life BUT the dog collar DOES NOT.

This is a very good unit; perfect for my 15 lb dog. It is so light that she pays no attention to it and does not seem to be "collar wise". She reacted instantly and obeyed the one time I had to use it. Since then, her "hearing" seems to have improved dramatically, and she obeys even without the collar.

I bought this collar to replace a Sport Dog 400 that no longer works. I really like the fast charging time and the vibration feature. This is an easy to use collar with simple instructions.

Works really well on a hard running Aussie that loves to chase horses. Hit him once on tone the first time chasing a horse then went to 2. He stopped immediately. Now all I do is tone him to remind, and he sits and watches.

Works GREAT. Took Ollie about 3 days to be off the lease to enjoy his "Freedom" and actually run around like a dog should.
