We have been using Nelson 1200 waterers since 2000. We take in and socialize rescued dogs (foster care) before they go to their forever homes.

Works great and was easy to install. The stainless steel construction is very nice and easy to clean. Quality Product!

Have only had the water bowl for a couple weeks, but it works perfectly and is built of nice sturdy stainless steel, so it should hold up to heavy use. Nice product.

Working as expected.

Only issue was the connecting hose was too short. I had to add another hose to compensate, but very hard to find a 4 foot extender. Wish you add the option to buy different size hoses. It is working great, and dogs took to it right away.

These are the best waterers money can buy. We are replacing all of our with this model. Easy to clean and install. My oldest one is 5 years new and no issues.

Simple to put together, well made, works perfectly and my dogs love the cool clean water right from the tap! Time will tell with it's (float and fill) durability...particularly with hard water. And no more manual fills, which makes me happy!

This is a very nicely made high quality product. There is one problem -- I cannot get the dogs to drink from it. Frustrating --- I am thinking about moving it to another area, isolating the dogs to where they have no choice. At this point, they prefer to drink from another source of inferior water which is the reason I bought the waterer in the first place ---- Regards, John Pawlak. P.S. -- Is there something that I can put in the water that they will like to get them started and then switch back to regular water.

I ordered this product because of all the great reviews I read about it online after seeing it in a photo on Houzz.com. I liked the idea of this so much I am incorporating it into our new mud room/entrance area in our house reno project. While I am pretty good at remembering to fill the dogs water dishes, there are times I forget. I can't wait to install this product. I'm already thinking of adding one outdoors too!

I'm really impressed with the design and manufacturing quality of this product. I've been through plastic and galvanized versions of similar products, and am expecting a much longer service life from this product. I consider the removable bowl to be a big plus.

Great Quality. This is my second Automatic Waterer. I wish I had found this one first, and I would not have wasted my money on the first one.

Easy to install. Works great. Should have ordered this a long time ago. Dogs have fresh water all day long.

As everyone else has commented, this is a great product, and I'm very happy with it. If I had 1 nit-pick, it would be with the use of 2 nuts to hold the screws in place for the quick release mechanism. When you remove the pan for cleaning, the screws are now loose, and the nuts easily move. The manufacturer should use a locking nut (nylon plastic on the inside of nut) to prevent the nut from moving. I picked up 2 stainless steel nuts with the nylon inside at a hardware store to fix this issue. Now, when I remove the pan the screws/nuts don't loosen/tighten up.

Gives peace of mind when we're not home, especially during these 90 degree+ days. Fresh , clean, cool water is essential, and this product provides it.

I love it. I should have bought this years ago. Easy to clean, never out of water. I must say though that the little hiss it makes when filling up with water frightens my 9 lb shih Tzu. But she is going to have to suck it up. She has another bowl to choose from. We also mounted our waterer really low on the wall so my little dogs can reach, and it worked out just fine!

I have tried other automatic watering bowls and none of them are as well made or as durable as the Nelson Model 1200B. I have three GSP's who run and play while I am at work, thus they require plenty of fresh clean water, and the Nelson provides just that. Also, it is nice to know that replacement parts are available (which I doubt I will ever need). I highly recommend this product!

Easy to install. Perfect for large dog or small. Actually, great for any type pet. This would be great for kitties, too.

It is good with good stainless construction. There are two (2) problems with it: 1. The connector at the end of the float valve should accept a regular garden hose fitting, not that 1/4 inch fitting. The supplied hose was too short, so I had to apply several adapters to fit my garden hose size onto it. 2. It is very expensive; needlessly expensive for what you get. Other than that it works OK.

Would be difficult to design a better auto water dish. Installed on wall in laundry room. Used saddle T kit for icemaker. Had to buy the plumbing adapter to go from compression to pipe thread. Unit works perfect. Looks like it will be very low maintenence.

boy does this make life easier. super easy to clean (we do that everyday). Our dogs love it and so do we. I would never return this. we plan on adding more soon.

the best nelson automatic dog waterer is an excellent product. when I need to go for a day or moreaway, I know my two dogs are safe and never will be without water. thank you very much

Had Nelson auto water bowl for 8 years, never a problem. As they warn you, it's not install and forget, you have to periodically remove bowl and clean the slime out, and every couple weeks I remove the cover and clean the float also. I think this automatic water bowl may outlast the dogs and me too! No rust on my unit after 8 years.

It is the BEST!!!

Had a plumber attach my 2 new nelson waterers inside my home hooked to the R.O. The floats are not adjustable, so you can not choose a water level. They are sturdy!

Hello Steve, The first waterer I purchased approxiately 4 years ago. I like it so much, I purchased 2 more. The two most recent purchases do not seem to be machined as accurately as the first. The components do not fit together quite as well as the original purchase. The waterers are easy to clean, easy to install, have demonstrated longevity, plus provide a constant supply of fresh water to the dogs. My second full time job is foster mom to shelter dogs in need. I have been fortunate to have fostered around 100 dogs and enjoy fostering pregnant females through delivery. These waterers are great for supplying water to litters of growing puppies. My most recent foster litter had ten puppies and I would not have been able to keep up with the demand for water without this product. I will be opening a boarding facility in the next 9 months and will be purchasing the new feeders and the waterers to use at my new facility.
