Fits as expected! Sizing guide was very helpful and better than what i found on Mendota's site. Vest holds up well to abuse and is doing a good job keeping my chocolate lab protected!

Don't like the orange color.

We hunt in Montana and Kansas, it saves the dogs belly from the grass and brush. I wouldn't send my dogs out without one.

The skid plate was perfect for my Brittney. We hunt some aspen stands for grouse and woodcock with a heavy blackberry understory. I can quickly put it on and Jaz goes right to work with great protection and noticeably less irritation from all the thorns. Very good product.

Have used it several hunts now. Fits great no rubbing or chafing. I ordered a small, very happy with the fit. Also the harness is great for lifting the dog up.

I have a older female dog and it could have been a couple of inches longer, to provide protection on one of her teats. It would be nice to have a model that's a couple of inches longer.

Works and fits as advertised. I included the measurements with my order and was surprised to receive a response back almost immediately. The Skid Plate is good and I like it.

The best one there is, the only one our older lab hasn't trashed in less than a season. Hers is three years old and just got another for the pup.

It is still early for this piece of gear. That said, it improves visibility (main reason for purchasing) and also seems to not overheat my pooch. So far it is meeting/exceeding expectations.

Great for hiking free leash. Had problems with belly skin allergies and infection. So far good.

My dog is allergic to grass and has lost all the hair on her stomach. This allows me to hunt her without her stomach becoming all torn up. She is a 40lb dog, and I probably should have gotten a M instead of a S. There is not any adjustment left in the straps.

Follow measurements for a perfect fit. Straps are now high vis orange. Even the buckles are American made and super strong. Way better than expected.

The small fits our 30 lb Britanny well.

Works great. No chaving. Could've probably went a size up for our 60 lbs GSP. But he's hard to fit anything because of his large chest and petite body.

hunted several days with this. It stays on (my dog has jumped out of the armholes on a neoprene vest), does not chafe under his forelegs, and stops much of the chest wear. Works great.

Helps protect my GSPs chest and belly area from the wear and tear of heavy cover. They seem to actually like wearing it. Not at all confining.

What a saver in the field!

Sizing isn't completely accurate for the German Shorthaired Pointer with deep chests. Tight at openings around front arm (leg?) pits causes chafing. Could really use larger leg openings or a softer material to prevent this.

This is well-made, does what it's designed to do, and I expect it to last for some time.

my dog does not even notice he is wearing this skid plate. He is much less hesitant to really dive through the thick brush and he doesn't come home covered in scratches and cuts. so far it is holding up great and size was perfect. As someone else mentioned, the straps are orange not black which makes more sense for visibility.

So far so good. Only used it once, but made it a lot easier to see my small 60 lb black lab in the thick brush and keeps him from getting scraped up on sharp grasses and sage brush.

This skid plate was for our 10 month old pup for his first hunt. Our 8 year old has had one for six years. Great protection for the dogs!

We purchased this to get our pup back in the fields after an immune disorder diagnosis. The struggle was to protect her from scratches and other injuries that could lead to internal bleeding. The skid plate works great. Her chest and belly was unscathed in her four hour hunt. Very pleased with the product. Sturdy materials and blaze orange for visibility.

It was a great fit for the English Setter. She is small and very narrow and have had great success with the great sizing charts that Gun Dog Supply uses to get a great fit. It was very easy to adjust. The only problem I have is small burrs get between the vest and her. Setters do not have a lot of fur. She gets scratched up with the burrs in there. But if she did not have the vest it would be a lot worse. I would recommend Gun Dog Supply. I live in Canada and get better gear and service thru Gun Dog Supply than up here in Canada. Great shipping rates and shipping time.

Sturdy material that is going to hold up well as my spaniel tears through the woods. It's been working great so far, and I look forward to continuing to use it.

This vest now has orange straps which I like even better. It is highly effective at protecting your dog without restricting movement. My dog danced a little when he first wore it, but now he knows it's his work uniform. He loves to see this come out of my vest, and he is nearly bullet proof in it. Note: dog abdomen is still exposed, so don't get too cocky, as my dog did suffer a puncture hernia this weekend, but it would have been far worse without his skid plate. This is a MUST HAVE for active dogs in heavy brush.

This skid plate is perfect. I have a 3 year old female GSP.

We work in Search and Rescue. The skid plate works well, but the extra large is a bit shorter than I would like. My Shepherd in a big boy 110# so a bit bigger than your typical hunting dog. So far we're pleased with the results.

Fits my dog well, and seems well made. Purchased for a trip to North Dakota scheduled in November for Pheasants. Time will tell if it will hold up to field use by an energetic 2 year old Lab in heavy cover.

This is a dog that trail rides with me on horseback for many miles. He is so low to the ground. This protects his stomach when going through woods and brush. I love that water can go through it too and not bog him down.
