Great Boots for Upland Hunting
November 23, 2021
My only complaint about the boots is if you end up hunting in a marshy area take the boots off before you lose them! I recently bought a replacement set because I lost a couple boots in the marsh as they get stuck in the mud and my dog pulls her feet right out of them even when they are taped on as prescribed. Outside of the marsh areas, these boots are great and protect my dog from getting beat up and from the random cactus!!

Lewis dog boots
November 18, 2021
I’ve been hunting the rough terrain of western Nebraska for 15 years and have used various leather dog boots on my 2 day trips. I’ve never had a pair last 2 days without losing one, or the boots themselves being destroyed, leaving my dog with thorns in her feet. Lewis dog boots not only stay on, but also offer unsurpassed protection and great traction for your dog. They looked just like new after 3 days in the brush. I will use these exclusively moving forward.

The Lewis boots fit well. They seem to be made of sturdy rubber material. Will be heading to the field in a few weeks for the real test.

Great hunting dog boot!
October 23, 2021
These boots work great. They stay on and allow your dog to hunt the toughest terrain without problems. After 9 years hunting my lab and 4 paw injuries from puncture wounds, it was time for a change. It takes a little effort to apply them properly, but they STAY ON!! My dog is an aggressive runner and they don't come off. The dog will learn how to run with them in a short period of time. It has given me piece of mind, and the dog hunts great with them on.
Don't feel they are the best choice for non-working dogs because of the effort required in putting on and off. But for a hunting dog, they can't be beat!

Lewis Dog boots last longer because they stay on the dogs feet better than any velcro strap. The rubber keeps most cactus spines from coming through and stops grass burrs cold.

The sizing chart isn't quite accurate. I needed a size larger than what was recommended by the sizing method. But the boots are very durable and stayed on all the dogs. South Dakota can be rough on a dog's feet, these worked!

Hands down best dog shoes/ boots on the market

Great boots
May 15, 2021
At first I didn’t see how I could get my dogs foot in them, but it turned out to be relatively easy. Zoe has degenerative myelopathy and she drags her hind legs. Consequently her hind feet get pretty scraped up if she doesn’t wear some kind of boot. These boots are much better than the other dog boots I’ve tried. They are much more durable than other boots.

buy these, leave the rest on the shelf
April 22, 2021
Lewis boots work well and last like no other dog boot on the market. I've used almost all the fancy dog boots out there over the years, all kinds of gimmicks still too many lost or severely damaged boots after just a few runs. These are all we use anymore.

I haven't used them yet.
March 20, 2021
I got them for a Corgi who drags his toes and on a long walk he rubs them raw. While waiting for them to come he got worse and started with back pain and really dragging and limping on his back leg so we haven't walked. I also hoped they would fit my old female Corgi. She has big back problems and scoots on her left hip at home. She slips on the hardwood floor. I have tried two other traction products and they don't last. I was hoping the boots might fit her and help with protecting her feet and with traction. As I was afraid they are too big. Might you try to produce a smaller boot?

Correct size
March 19, 2021
By being able to order individual boots in the correct size is the way to go. I have previously purchased full sets of small and large boots thinking they would suffice. But when I used the instructions and actually measured my Brittany's front paws. I found out he needed the medium size. Now I don't have to cut them to get the foot in, or watch him flop around with boots that don't fit.
Measure before you order. Then you don't have spare boots that don't fit.

You won't find better boots
February 16, 2021
I have run these on a few dogs now, and they are the best boots available. Durable, difficult to cut or puncture, and when they are put on right they just won't come off! I run my dogs in the upper midwest in winter, so I went without vents so my dogs don't have to stop and chew the ice out of their toes. I did have some vented ones, and the holes are small, but show pushes up in no time.
Once you have put them on a dozen times with duct tape, it doesn't take long but they do require the time to do it right

An excellent boot for hunting
February 1, 2021
I am glad I purchased these boots for my GSP. Whether hunting in fields layered in burrs & stickers or cacti plants, my dog just keeps going. I have had been using the same boots for the past 2 years with my dog putting over 200 miles on them and they still have tread remaining on them. They are a bit of work to put on, but once on, they stay on and the dog will run all day in them.

Good right boot that stays on
January 20, 2021
With a proper under-tape, boot, then over-tape the Lewis boot will stay on your hunting dogs foot. This can’t be said for really any other commercial boot I’ve tried. Tough and fairly cheap this boot checks all the boxes. If hunting in snow frequently, choose the unvented boot because the vented boot will pack up with snow pretty fast. The boot’s traction can be an small issue on certain wet/hard/icy surfaces.

Best/Most Durable Booty around
January 4, 2021
My Dog and I hunt Chukar in some of the most rugged country around. I can never get most booties to last more than a day without tearing, or ripping off. These, however, have lasted 2 seasons, and over 500 dog miles. They still work great and are, by far, the best booty I have ever used. As long as you put them on correctly, you will not have hardly any problems with them coming off.

The boots seem to be working as described and holding up.
Took the dog some getting used to them, good for a few laughs.
Really suggest watching the video on the Gun Dog Supply site about these boots and how to put them on the dog. Very informational.
Double check the dog’s foot size, Gun Dog Supply was gracious about my needing to exchange sizes. This is the place to buy from, great customer service.

Best Boot
December 22, 2020
I have spent many $ on various types of boots over the years. Our hunts go from grass to thick tangled straw in wetlands. It not unusual for the dog to loose a boot or two or even 3. But the Lewis boot is the best by far staying on. Once I worked out out the best way to put them on. A little pricey in my opinion though.

Saved a hunting trip
November 29, 2020
These dog boots were a "hunt saver" for my lab and I this fall. She had an infected toenail removed and our trip to South Dakota was in doubt. These boots protected her foot, allowed it to heal and allowed us to hunt normally. We had a great pheasant hunt.

Best Dog Boots out there
November 25, 2020
I have had the Louis dog boots for just over a year now. I live and hunt in Arizona where there is very harsh rugged desert hunting conditions. These boots have stood up to all the abuse my dog has put to them And still going strong.if you are looking for a dog boot this is them.
Don’t bother getting anything else They are literally tires on your dogs feet.

These boots are adorable on my Doberman & he had no issues with wearing them , he was pro @ walking the instant he had all 4 boots. I order boots for many reasons. Sultan has sensitive paws & during walks or park visits Cities & overall environmental allergies which caused issues . At least while wearing these boots outdoors Sultan is not as exposed to it . I am happy & content . I’ll definitely will recommend if anyone ask me where I got it . Thanks . I’ll look into future purchases here . Also fast delivery 🚚 regardless of shipping speeds . Thanks 🙏🏽

Best option out there
September 7, 2020
These are the best dog boots I have used. They hold up better than any of the fabric and Velcro boots I have used, and stay on better when put on with the sticky side out duct tape on the leg with another piece wrapped around (watch the video on the product page). They are lighter and more pliable than they look in the photos.

Review for Lewis Unvented Rubber Dog Boots -- Set of 4
November 15, 2016
These are great boots. First time or two takes longer than you'd like but after that, it's pretty easy. Steve says don't use cheap duck tape, I second that. And watch his video. One of my setters had a sore foot from a cut and stitches, she wore the boots for an entire day of hunting and I couldn't see a difference in her gait, and she wasn't sore when we got done.

Review for Lewis Unvented Rubber Dog Boots -- Individual Boot
September 1, 2016
I use these boots for an old dog who is losing mobility and requires boots to protect his feet from dragging. I really like the fit, the molded design works much better than standard tube sock style dog booties. The rubber is thin, which I solved by having the shoe repair shop put an extra sole onto the bottom.
