Love the product. The only thing I wish is it is a little longer to fit a longer GSD. It is an absolutely amazing product and perfect for training puppies and I love the product â¤! Got this for my puppy to teach “place.” Out if the box it was his favorite place to be in the house. It took maybe two repetitions to teach him, so obviously he feels very comfortable on it. I can’t comment on the DVD, as we never had to use it.

My dog is 16 years old, and he has trouble getting up and down the step into the backyard. (There is a 9 inch drop from the house into the backyard.) Ever since I put the training board there, he has had two smaller steps instead of one large step, and he's had no problem getting in and out of the house. The board is sturdy enough to hold not just my dog, but me. The top and bottom of the board have excellent traction, so the board doesn't move around on the concrete. This is exactly what I was looking for. I also like that it's lightweight.

Sturdy, will made. Put Kayak handle on the sides to carry. not heavy, but appropriate weight of a few pounds.

I bought this board so I could carry it with me when travelling for training. I have handmade I use at home but this is perfect for travel. Light and doesn't take much room in my vehicle. Had helped with teach my dog a nice tight and correct sit.

I have a place board that I made which works well, however it isn't waterproof which makes it unsuitable when doing water work. A friend of mine has one of these and I liked the design and construction. A nicely made quality product. It will get a lot of use training my new Lab puppy, Rose.

I love this Cato Training Platform so much I am going to order another. I have been using platforms for many years, but this is the best one I have found. It is large enough to use on almost everything I train...German Shepherds, Labs, Pits, ...the list goes on. It is tall enough to send a message to a dog when he has broken a stay, or missed his place. This board was a great compliment to my new pups place training. I found it to be just right for him to fit on the board without it being to big or too small. The quality is high for sure and I expect this board to last many years to come! Overall, I am very satisfied.

After having the White CATO board now for a few weeks, overall it seems to be well made and durable. We raise and train Labradors so It is especially useful and of good size for puppies and young dogs when training “place”. I also use place boards as a ‘home plate” when throwing marks for dogs while they are in a remote sit position. The board is ample size for puppies and young medium size dogs but probably could stand to be a bit longer and wider if it is be used in a “home plate” training scenario where the dog is sent back to and needs to turn around and sit with all 4 on the board.

Great product. Light weight, durable. I bought one for my finished lab and one for the new pup. The white color should be easy for my pup to identify.

Heavy duty and stackable.

My pointing lab was 4 months old and immediately responded to this board and the place command. Solid construction and design. Plan to take to the lake to practice water retrieves so he gets used to working from a platform. Similar boards cost twice as much so this is a bargain. Highly recommended.

We purchased this for the dog we recently adopted from the shelter. She is two years old and has been in a shelter her entire life and this "place" board works perfectly with her obedience training. It is sturdy and doesn't move, yet is lightweight and very easy to move around. We ordered it online and it was delivered within a few days. We are thrilled with it.

My border collies compete in agility nationally and overseas. These boards really help the dog learning they need to sit and stay even when super excited at the start line. I also use at the pool when conditioning my dogs to wait patiently for their turn.

This is a great training aid to help teach a variety of obedience exercises. It helps explain to my dog the proper placement for such things as stays, go outs, heel position. I find more uses for it every day.

I purchased 4 all together and use them to teach directional hand signals to my dogs. Love them and the quality.

Very sturdy and makes a wonderful dog training tool!!

I'd been looking for a training platform mainly so Whiskey would have a clearer signal of when training starts and ends (even though we've been using "we're done!" as the end, we didn't have a clear start signal). I found a couple but others has parts and attachments and while that may be great for some, I wanted something easy and sturdy and solid. I also wanted something I could start training our new puppy on, and she is very small. This was perfect and met all the requirements. It is low enough for the puppy, no extra pieces, 1 solid, study piece, and doesn'tslide on my smooth tile floor. Whiskey immediately took to it. While I haven't watched the video that came with it (no DVD player), I tell him "place!" and he runs to get on it and sits there waiting to see what is next, full attention on me. I can confidently recommend this product.

I absolutely loved this board. I take it to backyard, inside or in fled and my pup equally enjoys it. Equally useful and versatile everywhere.

I love the Cato Place Board with the non-skid rubber surface! The Cato Board solves all of the problems I had with my homemade wooden place board. It might seem expensive, and I initially questioned the cost. After using it, I think it is absolutely worth it!

This product is well made and sturdy. My Clumber Spaniel weighs 70 lbs and it holds him without sagging. The video is well done and showcases the place board well. I have a homemade place board but it’s heavy. This one is lightweight and portable. We live in Arizona, and it’s been soooo hot. I moved this inside and we’ve been practicing in the living room.

I am not a hunter, but a sporting dog enthusiast who trains with a hunter and her beautiful Golden Retrievers. She has been helping me with my 2 Goldens (3yo and 8 months). She introduced me to the concept of place training and platforms to re-enforce the command to sit until it is the dog’s turn to work. It is working like I never imagined. The CD that came with the Cato Platform was a great review of what my friend was teaching me.

I purchased two of the turf versions when I also acquired my pup from the product developer ( In fact the Cato product is named after my pup's sire!) I started using this for the place command almost immediately and love it. It's durable, right size and height. Tough, well designed product.

I watched the video before I purchased and the actual product was every bit as good as claimed, if not better. Also Gun Dog Supply got it to me very quickly.

My CBR is just now 5 months old and doing really great. The Cato place board has been invaluable as a tool to help with his retrieving, holding, and stay. It gives him a good visual of where he is supposed to be. It is also MUCH more stable than some other place boards or raised beds I have used in the past and it does not tip over at all. That has helped with his confidence in jumping on and off the board. I initially got the turf grass surface as it seemed like that would not get hot in the Colorado summer sun. My second board has the rubber surface. There are pros and cons to each - the turf doesn't get hot but it can get slick when it's been water logged by a wet pup. The rubber gets warmer in direct sun but doesn't get slick at all.
