Extremely well built. It's a bulky gun. Only real down side is you can't see how many rounds are spent without opening the cylinder and you need to take every primer out. Very difficult to take the spent primers out without taking all of them out of the cylinder.

Very solid piece. Trigger pull not too heavy to use double action even with lady hands!! 209's nice loud report. Easy to load and unload. Overall a big improvement over the .22 blank pistol we've been using. Orange grip's a great idea. Makes it easy to locate in the training pack.

Pistol is great. Easy to use. Great, consistent strikes every time. Holster takes a while to break in (still in the process), but very sturdy nonetheless. The ease of finding primers vs. blanks for me at my local Cabelas was a no brainer when choosing which Alfa pistol I was going to buy.

Rugged and loud. When small fireworks were legalized in RI about ten years ago, I started using 22 blanks to keep Canadian geese from destroying my lawn on the river's edge. Now the 209's do it. My dogs also perk up when they hear the pop, and they come in to me if they are out in the fields. The low cost of the primers is the main reason for getting the Alfa pistol, and even though I've already had one jam in the first fifty rounds, the gun seems solid and easy to use.

The kit is a little pricey, but leather holster is great as is the heft and balance of pistol. However, I did have a problem with 209 primers fitting the cylinder openings in two of the six openings. I sent an e-mail to Steve and there was an immediate response. New kit on the way with return label, and that is the five star part! Gun Dog Supply people are personable and a pleasure to deal with. Excellent product. I've used cheaper quality starter pistols in the past, and they tended to jam, and the trigger pulled very hard. The Alfa 209 is very high quality and should last a lifetime if properly cared for. Another nice feature is the cylinder. Holds 6 shots, The cheaper model I used previously only held 5.
